Matung Program (IDFVS)

About Our Program

Matung (IDFVS) provides a Culturally safe, holistic and coordinated support grounded in  Social and Emotional Wellbeing,

to individuals and families experiencing  domestic and family violence, where they may choose to remain in, leave or have already left  the relationship.

Matung (IDFVS) walks alongside individuals and families to understand their experiences, uphold their voice and promote safety, recognising they know what’s best for them.

What Do We Do?

We work in partnership with families and communities across the Cessnock and Maitland Local Government Areas, strengthening connections to Culture, community and supports that promote long-term safety and social and emotional wellbeing

Matung (IDFVS) delivers flexible, place-based and family-centred support that recognises the interconnectedness of mind, body, spirit, family, Culture, community and Country.

Matung (IDFVS) works alongside victim-survivors, including those who choose to remain in their relationships, to strengthen safety, wellbeing and healing for individuals, children and families.

While prioritising the safety and voices of victim survivors we also work alongside the person who has used violence.

The program is strengths-based and trauma-informed, supporting families to reduce risk while building resilience, connection and self-determination.
