Yaaro

Yaaro is an Alcohol and Other Drugs Service that works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people between the age of 16 years and above in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Port Stephens areas. The program aims to reduce the use of alcohol and other drugs, reduce contact with the justice system, reduce instances of domestic violence and unsafe parenting practices as well as improve health, social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. AOD Services is a 13-week case co-ordination program, that assesses individuals needs and provides support and advocacy for AOD and other services that are culturally appropriate. Referrals can be made by self-referral, community and services.
