MST-CAN » Multisystemic Therapy

Multisystemic Therapy – Child Abuse and Neglect (MSTCAN) is a voluntary home-based program that works with families 3-4 times per week, over a period of 6-9 months. The team are available to work with families at times that are convenient to them and provide 24/7 on call support. MST-CAN offers both practical and therapeutic support, specialising in trauma treatment, substance misuse, anger management and parenting support. The aim of MST-CAN is to build capacity in families to manage their own problems and maintain sustainable change beyond involvement with DCJ and MST-CAN. Referrals to MST-CAN can only be made by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), where there has been a substantiated ROSH within the last 180 days, the target child is aged between 6-17 years, and the child is not currently placed outside the home.
