Out of Home Care goes to the Footy!

On Sunday 28 August 2016, at the Knights last home game of the season against South Sydney Rabbitohs, Wandiyali OOHC was treated to a wonderful day out courtesy of the Newcastle Knights.

Jess Gale, OOHC Case Worker, tells us about the day:

“The group was met my former player, James McManus, and given supporter packs full of Knights goodies!
We were then taken to our seats, right next to the side line!
Just before half time, James took the group under the stadium. We were allowed out onto the side line to watch the last 5 mins of the half.
The kids then formed a guard of honour and high-fived the players as they came off the field at half time.
We were then met by injured player, Danny Levi, who signed everyone’s hats and took some photos. We were also treated to a quick hello from Knights great, Danny Buderus.
The kids then lined up to high five and cheer the players back onto the field ready for the second half.
We then went into the player dressing room for a look around, before returning to our seats for the rest of the game.
Everyone was really excited to see the Knights score a couple of tries in the second half (definitely inspired by their high fives!)
Everyone really enjoyed their day and appreciated the rare experience of hanging out under the stadium on game day.
Thank you Newcastle Knights and Wandiyali Management for arranging such a wonderful day for our kids!”

Thanks to Jess for filling us in on the day and taking some great photos!
