The Role
The Nyugumba & Birriwal manager will provide leadership and support to a team of three Nyugumba and Birriwal caseworkers, as well as hold a reduced caseload.
Essential selection criteria/ Personal attributes
Commitment to the vision and values of our Organisation
Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
Relevant Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services, Case Management etc.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with vulnerable, experiencing domestic violence and other risks
Demonstrated experience in assessment and case planning to moderate risks in vulnerable families/ knowledge and experience running groups.
Knowledge and experience running groups
Knowledge and experience in working with families where there are high needs including drug and domestic violence, alcohol abuse, mental health and experience in child protection.
Demonstrated skills managing a small team including providing case direction and individual supervision
Highly developed interpersonal skills including and understanding of counselling, mediation and conflict resolution
Demonstrated ability to work as both a member and be a leader of a small busy team
Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality and accountability, including client records, team and organised discussions.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with other services, our community and attend local network events.
Demonstrated ability to participate positively in teamwork, training and lead the supervision process
Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience in appropriate record keeping, report writing and data entry
Ability and willingness to implement appropriate and respectful conflict resolution strategies within the community and working environment
